Innova Destroyer - Star - SockiBot

The Innova SockiBot Star Destroyer was one of two stock Star Destroyers. From February 2020 through early 2022, the Ricky Wysocki Signature disc and the SockiBot were both stock Star Destroyers. “The Destroyer has always been the standard when it comes to distance drivers. It has the perfect complement of rim size and controlled distance,” says Ricky Wysocki. The Destroyer is a great disc for sidearm throwers and those with lots of power. “In the past, I’ve had separate sidearm and backhand distance drivers. The Destroyer is so versatile, it’s one of the few discs I throw for both sidearm and backhand shots.”

The Innova Star Destroyer is a stable to overstable distance driver. It is a very fast disc golf driver with significant glide. Compared to the Wraith it is faster and has a little more high and low speed stability. The Destroyer is a great disc for sidearm throwers and those with lots of power. It can handle headwinds and throws with off axis torque. Not recommended for beginners.

It is a great choice for maximum distance, long hyzers, headwind drives, and for intermediate to advanced players looking for a stable wind fighting distance disc.

The Destroyer in Star plastic was the first Speed 12 disc that Innova released. Initial reviews compared it to a faster TeeRex.

About Star plastic in general - it has the durability of Champion plastic with the superior all-weather grip of Pro plastic. Star discs have the same flight rating characteristics of Champion discs, although some Star Lite discs may be slightly more high-speed stable. Star retains flight characteristics longer than DX or Pro Plastics.

What others have said:

"My long time sidearm favorite has to be the Destroyer. It gives me such confidence. I get great distance, dependable fade, and a big skip/flare at the end. The Destroyer is also my go to driver for shots uphill." - Debbie Scott
"The GStar Destroyer has exceptional grip and durability, especially in cold and wet conditions. The disc will season nice and slow, and turn more as it ages making it useful for an even wider range of shots." - Chris Thomas
