Distance drivers are the thinnest golf discs with the sharpest edges and the widest rims providing the maximum distance possible. Because of their sleekness, they are very fast and more difficult to control than fairway drivers and mid range drivers especially for players with little or no experience.
Many of Innova's Distance Drivers that range between Speed 9 - 13 are recommended for players with experience. The highest Speed 12 - 13 discs have what is considered a 'wide rim' which increases speed and distance even more. These are not very beginner friendly. However...
These Innova Distance Drivers with Speed 9 - 11are great for beginners or players with little experience. Altho they are considered beginner friendly, they are certainly used by many top players as well for certain shots.
We recommend light weight, understable, DX drivers because they are easier to control and learn.
- Lighter weight discs are easier to control and won't have as strong of a tendency to fade or curve.
- Understable discs are the most beginner friendly.
- DX plastic discs are not only less expensive if you lose them, but they are more understable than the same models made with higher quality plastics.
