Mid range drivers are thicker than distance drivers, but not as thick as putt and approach discs. Their profiles (edges) are less sharp and rims are not wide. They don't fly as fast as longer range drivers and they are easier to control making many of them very beginner friendly. They also make great multi-purpose discs meaning a player can play the entire course with just one disc.
