Glitter Champion Tee Devil

The 2012 PDGA Fund Raiser Glitter Tee Devil is in stock. It is not as overstable as the Destroyer so will glide longer before turning. More overstable than the Millennium Astra

Millennium Quasar

Millenniums’ first Speed 13 disc has been released.  The Quantum “Star Dust” Quasar is a wind fighting overstable disc.  Experienced power throwers will love the dependability of this “Boss like” disc.  The metal flakes inside the plastic make it also very attractive to look at.

Millennium Astra

The Astra is one of the two new Millennium discs releasing this week.  It is an understable,  speed 11 driver, with a wide rim that is similiar to the Archon.  This disc is made in the standard Millennium plastic that is similiar to Innovas’ Pro or Discrafts Elite X type of plastic for a grippy feel.   Beginning players will find it easy to throw and get very good results.  More experienced players will use it as a specialty turn over disc for rollers or downwind shots.

Discraft Buzzz SS

The Eric McCabe Buzzz SS is a super straight line flyer.  It is one of the longest flying midrange discs on the market.  Falls in between the Comet and the GlideA great disc to have when you need to count on it to hold the line on narrow fairways.

How to pick a golf disc

If you are a new player and look at the manufacturers disc descriptions you would think that every disc is one that you need.  It is more important to focus on good throwing technique and form than it is on worrying about what disc to buy.

Beginning players will have better results by sticking with a light weight discs in the less expensive plastic. The more expensive the plastic the more over stable the fight pattern.  Besides when you are first starting out why take the chance of losing an expensive disc.  Heavier discs do not fly further for a beginner or someone with a slower arm speed.  A stable mid range disc or putter will provide more accuracy and control while you are practicing your form.  It is best to start with no more than 3 different types of discs and throw them enough in different wind conditions to learn their flight patterns.  I would stick with discs rated 0 to -1 in stability and with a deeper rim for easier control for a backhand thrower.  Discs like the Shark, Leopard. XL, or Stratus are suggestions.  For a side arm thrower I would try a more over stable disc like a Wraith, Force or Pro D Challenger because you want something you can depend on coming back to the right .  Experiment with the angle of release to control the flight patterns.  Remember to practice accuracy first with good technique before you worry about distance.
